In a raven night sky
Where fog nestles for measure
Human thoughts flow through sleep
Unlike things that have something in common
Some repetitions of sadness
Some which rhyme exactly
Some in-between….
Some very confidential expressions, to say the least

In this world of high school students
Burning up important pages
Performing like a fireflies
Darting and dancing phases
One speaker on my left
The other on my right
Forgetting images in-between
Where breathe rolls out in lyrics
They look at me, while I sit on the fence
Thinking, wondering, writing poetry

Air is filtered with good ideas
Can you smell the trees?
Explain their rings?
Know their feelings?
Hear their memories, their options?
I’m still deeply in love with my losses
Poignant cracking sidewalks
Look up and smile
While society’s to busy
Trying desperately to remain heterosexual
I don’t belong to a group
I don’t want to limit myself

Where does one fit in all of this?
Well, simply, all I want is a real love,
Even if it hurts…
Not to align, but to understand anonymous
Who seems so alone, over there
“Hiya”, I wave
There is connection to his approach
“Guilty”, I yell, while he walks by
Not having to explain myself
He turns, looks back, smiles

"Ahhh", I think, "he’s an artist!"
He owns complete essays and a lion's heart
He doesn’t look like a Ford or Carnegie….so….
In a raven night sky
Where fog nestles for measure
Human thoughts flow through sleep

“Without you, will I ever know joy again”? I think
He reaches up and catches my desire
In the raven night sky
He finds my thoughts
Without once, stubbing his toe

We were one, before we knew each other?
Wed locked souls

It's just that we were here once before
and we came back?

LeeJ.,
This is a special one...I'm glad you wrote it.  It's not easy for me to share the innermost feelings without trying to cover them up behind metaphors or personification. I'm glad you wrote this as you did.  Take care.

LeeJ,
If I knew the path I'd send you a map.
Enjoyed the read.

"Where does one fit in all of this?"

I understand the searching and the questioning.  Your path is contemplative....therefore it is the right way.

there's so many things in this write that hit home with me.

like this: "I’m still deeply in love with my losses"

and this:"I don’t belong to a group
I don’t want to limit myself"

and this: "all I want is a real love,
Even if it hurts…
Not to align, but to understand anonymous
Who seems so alone, over there"

and of course this: "We were one, before we knew each other?"

Sense and sensitivity...on a much deeper level that I appreciate in life and poetry.

Love,
Reg
