I sail the high tides at night when the world sleeps
and there is no one to speak my mind to
These are the depths that captivate me,
where I imagine captains navigating dreams,
allowing themselves to feel what I feel

I am drawn to such alluring fathoms,
entertaining myself from the truth,
for where might I be
without the quixotic sailors in my life
There would be no harbors,
nor anchors,
nor babes that leave me behind

While all feels colorless in the ocean
I know there are neon notions,
hiding from a violent sun

no matter the coral labels etched into my back
I am one, craft undone, but I am many in a crazy sea
where each is a castaway, off course and lying about it

I know nothing of nations, they are all invisible
to the naked eye
I simply plot my course and question those
that look at the stars and picture things
that never happened

While lies immortalize our gods, my origins
my hinterlands, lie somewhere upon the floors of the deep
and I just keep...trying...to write myself into the sand

Awesome write Regina..with your own exquisite touch.
Hugs~

Something tugs at me, I've no doubt of that.
Something from the sea, whichever one I'm near.
When I stray too far from beachland, it calls me back

the entire poem was amazing, but this part was to me, especially significant

I sail the high tides at night when the world sleeps
and there is no one to speak my mind to
These are the depths that captivate me,
where I imagine captains navigating dreams,
allowing themselves to feel what I feel

outstanding!

A spiritual journey it is to read you

Reg,
Your writing takes me places I seldom see. Thanks.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Sy: Sit back, relax, and dig yer toes in? LOL! Thanks for the reply and the giggle. I needed that!

Nancy: Any visit from you is exquisite. Thank you hugs.

somy: Your connection gives depth to my meaning. Thanks somy. So glad you're here.

LeeJ: Ah, your depth is spiritual, and it doesn't suprise me when you recognize my reach. Many, many thanks.

C: Seems I'm forever in the hot seat, but as long as you're pleased, I'm writing. Smile hugs.

Larry: Now that's a compliment...cuz I never go anywhere anymore, cept the front porch, work, and school. Thanks for being such good company on my mind trips.

Love,
Reg
