I left my footprints in a meadow
that I no longer dream of
but blush over as a girl with ribbons

Now there are mountains that smoke from empty paper
and rivers that run away, far from names
or from something other than mud

I still feel shadows from the things that live in you...
in the valleys that are treeless... in the hottest part of the road
where everything is in the middle without an end

I swim in oceans of mixed feelings then
and as always, I drift
from morning’s fawn colored light
to the quiet whisper friction of night
where touch is something that brushes
through air
and everything is earthly, fleeting, and not quite enough
to carry me there
so I send my song sigh birds to fetch your thoughts,
to move you, nigh to time’s stroke and peel of minutes
to love you, with secret sounds that make you remember
how we chased away the sun

Wow, Regina!

You paint the most exquisite picture with your palette of words.  So many wonderful images were seen.

Take care........Sue

This is, I believe the word was already used, exquisite.  Rich.  Much enjoyed.

I was always fascinated by your way with words,
and I've missed reading you, Regina~

in beginning with such words you well set the tone and the imagery... it has been too long since I read you..and enjoyed your art as well as the soul behind it.

So very very beautiful Regina...
So very you with the light touch of ink..
You have indeed been missed.

Regina, the songs come from your God given gift...they are incredibly tender, and pull at the heartstrings...this was an incredibly bittersweet song...one of which should be put to music...lovely, simply lovely.

Thank you

Reg,
WooHoo!!! Look who's writing again. I love this:
========================================
so I send my song sigh birds to fetch your thoughts,
to move you, nigh to time’s stroke and peel of minutes
to love you, with secret sounds that make you remember
how we chased away the sun
========================================
I'll be patient but I'm watching for the next one!

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

This is quite the keeper.  You have such a give for eloquent writing.  Your deft pen leaves me awestruck in the few posts I have read from you.  Your talent is so well refined it seems to be innate in you.  You were born with raw talent and have had the luxury of polishing it through life.  That is the only way I can see that you write so incredibly vividly.  I can feel your words.  I can see your words.  All the hallmarks of talent are soundly represented in your writing.  I am simply in awe of your amazing collection of words written as to inspire all of us to engage perfection in our own writing.  I simply relished in every word you shared.

Kacy: Hey poetess! So good to see you here. You are always great encouragement to me. Thanks so much.

Kevo: Well darlin, you have got to be the most poetically uplifting fellow I've had the pleasure to meet. It would be easy for me to grow a head the size of a Volvo with you around, but I'll stay true to my roots and give you a big humble hug for your kindness. It's all milk and cornbread without those that connect. I look forward to reading and sharing life's artwords with you.

Love,
Reg

Oh God, o god o Regina, you have no idea how this made me feel, you've collapsed me and yes that's a good thing.

WOW.

I'm keeping it.
