I squeeze the tube and think
"toothpaste"
I center white
on palette pressed
tight between my thumb and point
I think again
"yes--access"
I add a dab of this and that
around the centered purity.
Primaries
are secondary
tools I'll use to blend the more
subtle shades
the way light plays
and just a line of clarity--
true I like my life subdued
yet have this need for "understood"
I shrug and add the obvious--
tiny dots of bright in eyes
to indicate the source of light
although the shades are drawn
I lied
in my hues of canvassing
I got lost in blends of pink
painting my own blush
I'm caught
in the bristles of my brush
naked in the paint.

smile

yes you are

but the funny thing is

we are all naked in ways...we cant even see
and then..
when we notice that?

we dont even realize the depth
of ourselves

we are
    ALL
guilty of that

           is the nature
of the ones
               whose ego
             is small
but seen clearly
and rubbed everyday

       self-absorbtion yes

but selfish?
immpossible

we dont have the ego for it

with something this small and shiny
we dont dislay it to EVERYONE

but it is our "precious"
      and for good reason

     it
       has
      gotten
      us
       through

.....it is survival

and its name
is called

diamond

Perceived by you,
maybe a mess,
perceived by us,
you refresh!

Enjoyed your painting tonight, Karen!   .....jo

Serenity...As always your words really put my mind in overdrive trying to understand.

" I have this need of understood "

To understand the artist is to take away the mystery and I much rather think of you as a mystery waiting to be solved by those who dare try...Paul

Well sure it is a wonderful Karenity poem, but it took me back to ummm, 1963 it was.  Yes, that was a very good year I do believe Willow, myself, and another friend let people cover us in paint and we rolled on the walls in the corridor of the dorm, as pledges in our sorority.  I have to say that being a "twiggy-type" I felt my art was the best, but guess who won the contest?  Right again!  She did! Karen we should be neighbours yanno?

blushing here--

I was just thinking how I came here to Pip and I honestly thought I could write and not "show myself."

You good people surprised me.

Thanks for seeing me "nekkid" and loving me anyway.

and I'm outta here before I get all emotional again...sniff. too late.
