a) The seed within the mind Grows in its expression Questioning growth of clarity Challenging wings of perception Liberated thoughts of delivery Born inside inner faith Blossoming dance of individuality Dynamics of free speech Un-tethered from fear. Death of darkness, Silenced total stillness Smothered full compliance Imprisoned hopelessness Doom of humanity Kiss of a vampire Draining independent words, Constitutional decay Faded rights, muted silence. Singing birds hatched free, Awakened warmth of Spring, Un-cloned revival of revitalization, Baby of the sovereign womb Crying its first breathe, Humanities children Again running unabated Naked inside reasoning Refusing to die silenced. b) My own poet’s voice Screams in hidden valleys Echoing upon its destruction Hoping intensity rebuilds, Quaking open an awakening. Having been heard Is to say I have existed. Yet I must dig deeper To treasure words more. The mirror of a poet’s words May reflect within themselves But it is in the audience That a poet’s hopes treasures. Here the dreams are fulfilled From the reflection of meanings, Each an exquisite gem, Reflective images of clarity, Perceived from different directions. The ghost of writing Will never honor only one. Honor can only be attained, Remembered beyond their time Living beyond physical death. Seed of their words germinating Inside inquisitive minds Studying free expression in the Silence of the Awakened Mind. D.Lester Young 6/14/04 |
