It’s the rainy days When puddles gather on black And I in stare at my reflection Can see through myself and out again Into the empty that is left …………………………….. Crazed The glazed vase now stands bare Stems long since devoid of greenery or bloom Become the abstract Straighter lines to compliment The checks and haze of blue Surrounding glass The skyline became palms and waves then And I drank warm air into lungs Too long used to winter While exposing bared arms to breezes And more of myself to you than I should You smiled I remember that And I remember how the feel of your cheek Against my shoulder left me restless To walk the sand and listen to the waves Sweep sand against sand Drowning steps and sounds And it’s the rainy days now With the hiss of falling drops that remind me Of sea tides and of you Tomorrow I will buy flowers Tropical I think And fill the vase with them When the clouds have gone And the puddles dried So they don’t fall through the holes Inside… |

Empty? Really? Not when you can write like this and certainly not from what I remember.. Empty is a perspective..and maybe there should be some rule that we not judge it for ourselves. ![]() "cast me gently into the morning, for the night has been unkind" |
