The Path of Desire

Which is the secret path I take, that leads
The way to your heart I desire —
What impatient carriage awaits, that bleeds
My love in a trail of a crimson fire...

My words of love are the carriage that rides
The path concealed within the faceless night;
My eyes the lanterns, those trusted guides,
Swing with my words in a fiery flight.

There!  A flicker of light so faintly marks
The castle that harbors your longing heart
— But the hearth has gone low; the dying sparks
Ward off no chill that the cold nights impart.

It is read: "Soul meets soul on lovers’ lips"
— Great poet once said — then let my own breath
Be the breath of my soul, and in its eclipse
The chill of the night will meet its own death.

Then let its soft blast be the flaming torch
That will thaw the chilled wings of this dove —
And let my words and this burning flame scorch
The land of your dreams with my passion and love.

And if, my Lady, that you return in kind —
The words of our love be the sparks that ignite
And feed our hearts’ flaming fire, and bind —
As soul against soul will press in the night...

Wow CG!!

You've done it again!  Your words flow like a tranquil stream and touch the heart in a most beautiful way.  This would have to be my favourite so far.  Thank you for sharing your immense talent with us.

A favourite quote of mine :

"Your words are my food,
your breath...my wine"

Take care.........Sue
