There is a time I remember from not so long ago
A time where you were my heart and soul
However due to circumstances that were my fault
I left both in my world and yours...a huge hole

I know you will never read this
Still though, I will put my feelings out on these pages of blue
I'm more sorry than you could ever know
My intention was never to hurt you

Though months and months have passed
And now it's turned into well over a year
Sometimes at night just before I fall asleep
I think of you, and allow a solitary tear

It's not so much the loss that hurts so much
More it is the fact I don't even know how you are
My pride won't allow me to write a letter or such
I can't call you...that would be going too far

So instead, I can only hope
That time has been a kinder friend than I
I want you to know I'm a changed person
Somehow you can hear it in the wind, when I let out a personal sigh

It's a sigh that's reserved for you, and all that we once shared
And though I'll never get a chance to say all of this
You know in your heart
I truly cared...

There are no explanations for my past actions
It's still a hurt I carry everyday
I'm not trying to make excuses for myself
I just was hurting in the most horrible of ways

I hope that you are happy
I'm sure you've moved on by now
And though I know the reasons we ended
Still I miss you....somehow
