I come to this chair
With little energy to spare
Falling into its grasp
Head automatically sag
Limply slumping as a worn rag
Stopping at last.
Sleep would have been good
If I’d only slept like I should
Instead of fighting dream demons
But I fought them because
There I was
And they wouldn’t listen to reason.
As my psych was raging
Till alarm was ringing
And wake was bringing
And I sat up in bed.
Awake and not rested still
Perhaps I should have taken a pill
To chase the demons from my head,
Instead,
With eyes crusted red
Dressed and went on my way
Tired
And not inspired
To greet another day
Rooted down heavily
Fallen into as deep as I possibly be
Look for the potion
To restart my motion
Yes a third cup of coffee.

Ahh I feel completely drained by the end of this read!
I could go for some caffeine, too.
And I completely agree about the dream thing...
A couple nights ago I finally fell asleep
and immediately started dreaming.
I dreamed about being in horrible pain
with people torturing me, for an hour.
Then I woke up and realised the pain was real.
Yep, migraine.
Agh, sleep just isn't what it used to be!
Excellent writing.
