Between the Lines

0 posted 2004-06-03 09:38 AM

The air is thick with silence
as I go into overtime in thought
this game of life held back
from the goal lines of happiness.

Shouldered with the intensity of time
and its meaning, less the penalties
and the bruising of the heart,
when blocked by the unknown.

I've straightened myself,
but to no avail, your distancing
wrinkling my behavior into half measures
always needing an assist
to reach you behind the lines.

A time out seems in the works
though each moment lost
benefits no one.

I understand only too well! ~ But I'm glad that this was "Just-A-Write"!

However, there have been times when I myself have felt like a hockey puck on the great ice of life!

A clever write!

A small breather, then back you go, on to score!
