One fine day when love comes for me
a more beautiful sight you never will see
than the essence of soul naked and bare
standing firm on the base of past memories.

No matter the type, good, bad, in between,
see how the grass grows beneath feet of old
tended and cared for, allowed to be free,
and granted permission to remain evergreen.

My moments of shame will recede like a flame
doused with the knowledge of my forgiveness
and two hands will entwine again in pure love
decreed as the right of creatures, trees, me.

But I see in the distance I’ll grow again me
and be like a tree, full, lush, and at ease,
or perhaps as a being evolved, moulded, and born,
to adapt to the scene free will has created.

I wait for the day when love comes for me
to settle the fear, anguish, turmoil, and war,
into the background of what had to be
to enable new growth and the joy of summer.

Don’t hurry the leaves to appear on the trees
for winter dispels our wild hungry needs
and brings to the fore the meaningful, true,
to simplify and make the transition painless.

Winter to winter but soon endless peace
one fine day when love comes for me!

Yes, you're right, passing shadows, and it takes me awhile to pull myself together again. However, I'm glad the emotion comes through because we are all emotional beings no matter the outer facade. Thanks for the read.
