Think of me, left bare, as the pinks and purples of the season dress the others, forsaken, i am the orphan that stands alone, ashamed; i feel your slap, as the currents of the bay rummage thru my nakedness, think of me, but have i merely painted you with heart, would you care to know how the rain hammers on my broken branches, or that i can still thrive as the birds seek me as respite for their weary flight? do you know when nighttime comes and i pretend to sleep, i am only waiting for the fallout of the heavens to ring me in ethereal glow, think of me, when you can no longer look away, may i play the martyr to your awakened soul? do you know when nighttime comes and i pretend to sleep, i am only waiting for the fallout of the heavens to ring me in ethereal glow, think of me, when you can no longer look away, For some reason, this made me so close to tears. and not in a sad way. It's so, so so beautiful. That's all I can say. |

For school once I had to do a report of "I am a...", once of the things I chose was a tree. But nothing I wrote for it could have turned out as beautiful as this. Painful, but perfect. Always, Alyssa Poems are made by fools like me, |
