Weeping Waters

I listen to the waters weep
And cannot close my eyes to sleep
I float upon a tar of night
With only stars to give me light

The rhyming lap, of slapping slap
Sets the sound to form a trap
And cloaks me with a mental veil
Without a chance of setting bail

Held within the hammocks sway
I watch the shadows melt away
Feel hot moisture sweat my skin
Running rivulets of sin

Stirring anguish mounting toll
Setting fire to my soul
Sending waves amok of doom
Drowning me in muck of gloom

I pray the wind to change the stir
And let my ears and eyes to blur.
Change the rhythm of the core
Stop the rubbing of the raw

The night has caught me in its bend
A little more will be my end.

Morning Sy!
Sounds like you did some tossing and turning last night.
Wonderful rhyme with added alliterations with this write.
Very much enjoyed.

Seymour - hmmmmm.....restless night? There is only one cure for that. Enchantress's magic tea and my extra syruppy butter tarts!
Be well my friend. hugs, Chris

Whew, where's the fan.  Need a good breeze to blow away the oppressive heat!  I could feel the burn of this.

Sy, another good un!  I have to tell you
this...there is much water yet waiting to
flow beneath your bridge...and it will.

Yes back to LaLa land. That is where we want to be. Under a tree or on the sea
Or just get lost in fantasy.

Barry,
I hope so my friend and thank you.
