I guess i wouldn't recognize it
(anymore)if it didn't run
in the line parallel to its shadow,

deep in the marrow
where the red and
the black interwine;

even the saintly rose
was birthed from roots
that were encased once
in the origin of grit and grime;

immaculate conception
is only for a few chosen ones,

or is it?

it comes through a bullet's depth,
piercing an already wounded heart
that opened prematurely
to supposed foolproof signs
that somehow leaked in
through faith's shaky window,

would i know it anymore
if it didnt both shower me
with soft petals, then douse me
in falling rocks and twigs,

look how the green towers stand
unphased as wooden soldiers,

now watch the rain upon their shoulders,

first in a cloak of kindness,

do they ever wear the green
with such jubilation
as when they are love stricken
with heaven's rain?
