I Shall Get There In The End With my low self-esteem Confidence will often fall Because so many years I was made to feel small No one would ever know I'm able to hide the tears I can put on a brave face A smile always appears Leaving emotional scars Something I had to bare I felt worthless and used They never seem to care I shall get there in the end Determined to be strong My confidence shall grow As they were in the wrong Hope©2004 |

This is so full of pain and deep anger that it is beyond tears. Keep writing it out so that you may get to where the flowers grow. |

Good poem. It's amazing as we grow older how we begin to realize the truth of all the little abuses which have shaped us. There is so much abuse in the world and when we learn the truth of it, we are changed. You are getting there! Hope, your poems are always rich!  ....jo |
