I saw her walking through the fields
in the haze of nightfall’s gloaming,
a goddess fair with golden hair,
across the landscape roaming,
my pace quickened as I strode,
my heart began to race,
my only wish to reach her side,
to gaze upon her face,
while I took her in my arms,
to kiss her on the brow,
as I whispered “I’ll love you,
forever, that’s my vow.”
but then she topped a distant knoll,
and she was lost from sight,
by now my pace was at full run,
within I felt a fright.
I reached the crest of distant knoll,
I strained to see below,
but alas, my goddess gone,
in the mist of twilight’s glow.
I slowly walked down in the dell,
where flowed a crystal stream,
and sat upon a fallen log,
thought, was she just a dream?
then I espied within clear waters
the face of Terpsichore,
and heard her voice upon night’s breeze,
I’ll love you evermore.

I know of crystal streams
and crystal springs...
you've penned a fountain of beauty, methinks.

Tucked away in my library...
with a little bit of starlight, shining.

Maybe she was a mermaid....What kind of fishies do you catch fisherman?

I am a pisces~ fish like to be free, swimming in a vast, open space...

Lovely poem, full of dreamy imagination!
