When You Hear Me Growling Pass Me By |

Bitter waters flowing on, running in the blood, coursing through my veins, this time of year always wears me down. I have no patience now, I always wear a frown and the thin veneer that passes for civility cracks and peels away from me in so many ragged spots even a big red suit, and eight reindeer, wouldn't make me pass for cute, or cuddly, or any of that other touchy feely crap that I hear people sometimes say. I just want the world to go away and leave me the hell alone, before I start thinking anyone who gets up in my face could be a good soup bone, and I've got cooking space, and lots of water; maybe I ought to try remembering when I was younger, I don't think I was this vile then, just mercenary, and perhaps just a little homicidal; OK, so it was enough to tweak some of my employers' fear controls. So, maybe this style of dealing could have been creeping up on me a while, and it may only seem a little worse each year. ©2004 by icebox |

"even a big red suit, and eight reindeer, wouldn't make me pass for cute, or cuddly, or any of that other touchy feely crap that I hear people sometimes say." sigh. sweetheart? I'm thisclose to my pre-menopausal period--that is, if I even have one, sometimes I'm reduced to a merely irritable comma... but yes, smiling serenely, you could have simply titled this, "leave me alone if you wanna live" and I would have understood. sign me, developing facial tics |

"before I start thinking anyone who gets up in my face could be a good soup bone, and I've got cooking space, and lots of water" Rich analogies! Icebox -- I gonna send you a hug at the end of this one, so prepare yourself! Despite the growling, wonderful poem and good point made. I had a job that made me a nasty person (and I let it), inch by inch. Guess what, I don't any longer! Many, many of your poems are so easy for me to relate to and thank you for penning them. So here's the and I hope it is not revolting...that's just me these days. Serenity Blaze -- I nearly did a very unladylike thing when I read your post -- lol -- and understood! hugs to you, too, funny lady! |
