Jet Lag

It is late in the candle store
although the fragrance of flowers still simmers
under the heavy sky
then slowly eases from sidewalks
into the delft glazed sea

The rain is everywhere
even there
and under the wooden walkway
with its specter of sails and flags
I hear the echo
of something pushing me to air

The wind is in my hair
a map across my eyes blown dark
where listening is big and slow
I can feel the hands of time there
and in the last color of sky
as day dies

slowly

I turn into the bitter cold
my blossom cheeks against his coat
and I think of falling up
the wind my boat  my hair the sail
the sky my ocean past the sun
into the morning of someplace else

Oh dear Martie..this has to be one of the best you have ever written.
This is a treasure..a keeper for my library.
The imagery here is incredible.

Ah, Martie...you truly do give this experience a "present" feel...as if we were right there with you. It's an honor to watch an artist at work, and you are an artist of true beauty and strength.

Id of been lacking had I missed this gem of pen.... awesome imagery and personify...
your muse rocks even when tired and lagged.

I love you more the further I go ...
before this existence ... you were always here inside of me.
