where the wild flowers grow

0 posted 2004-05-10 05:48 PM

I lay here, alone,
just as I have many times
before.

Fearing, and thinking too much,
perhaps I have lost you.
I have not felt you.
And what would I do,
if that were the truth?

I would think
of all the things that
I
had done incorrectly.
All the times that I
was not cautious enough.
I would blame myself until
my bones begin to crack
from the weight of my own skin.

I don't care
if I've slept too much,
so long as you've gotten
the rest you need.
But would you, please
wake up,
and tell me you're still
indeed,
there..and waiting for more.

But if I move, I'll
catch my angels feeding
upon my demons,
for now
they are all the same..

I can't stand the thought
of the flesh,
and the flame
so close
to my body.

Tell me you're alive and I
will stand up and
remember the reason I
could live
to begin with.

I remember thoughts like these.  They're right when they say breathe, just breathe.

I'll take you up through the pink clouded mist
take a right through the purple haze..
down under the bridge of bliss..
a left past the meadow where time can't exist
and here. when I remember your face.

Jai of Heaven.

You are wise beyond your years..

Ah, the mirror we hold up to our souls...
better to sometimes hold the mirror opposite us,
so that it picks up the light, and shines a beam
into the direction you would follow...

Your poems always come across so personal, Meghan...like the poets of yesterday, they speak to a person's soul; his or her faults, queries, sufferings...eternal questioning of one's place in life.

You are a true, and talented, poetess.

So touching. Great poem

Normal words along with thoughts, sometimes unsure, although elogantly spoken, for one in a condition such as yourself.

You will be okay.

Kaoru

Heart touching, the strength and vulnerability that shine in this poem of love and fear.  I do want all to be well for you and the babe.
