where the wild flowers grow

Mock the rose,
and prick of finger.

The gods are laughing at me again,
the thunderous cackle of eternity.
The harps have gone mad in mid-flight,
screaming the names of sinners and
making them part of the strings.

I fear the music has wounded me.

Masked cleverly as a thorn.

How beautiful I once thought,
the plant's reflection..
Merely a trick on the eye,
a ridicule upon my heart.

And so they smirk at me from above,
pointing their fingers in disgust.

I lessen myself to nothing,
curling closer to implosion.

So
I am no more
than a droplet of blood.

All things of beauty, should be handled with care...

Kaoru this was... ummm... Fantabulisimorific!

Oh, that’s a new word I just invented for your poem.

Some people say, “the words just haven’t been invented yet
that can blah blah blah...”

Phooey... I’m just gonna haul off and start inventing
them my own dang self... lol

Hey, someone’s gotta

Thanks Kaoru!

I loved this so much. Beautifully woven like an intricate tapestry...  Loved your musical metaphor. Magical. This poem is inspiring for an art piece. Such amazing words.

Thank you.

Meg~

I sometimes have to reread to find the rhyme.  Not that it isn't there...no..I mean I read it, feel it, and hear it yet it is so subtle, I have to go back and find it...That is wonderful writing...

Reality bites!  But it is worth it in the long run.  I liked this one very much.

In musical terms it sounds like a hopeless minor harmony against the ever so boastful majors and sevenths.  In other words it is indeed a very beautiful poem.

This is the masterpiece that hangs inside the hall closet. This begs to be published in hardcopy!
