At the quiet of the evening when the sparrow has nestled down,
Manaheshte enters the temple and prays.
Manaheshte prays for mankind, crying and pleading the case.
Why does he this every holy hour?

His watchful Father, knowing thus, and in His fullness knowing more,
permits Manaheshte this burden.
Manaheshte loves his sisters and brothers
though they do not understand the depth of this river.

In the cave of his humilty, he willingly quenches the fire,
he willingly faces the lion.
Why, Manaheshte, do you love your brothers and sisters
more than you value yourself?

Is there a secret here?  Can you hear?
Manaheshte, Manaheshte?
And how do you know you won't be ended by your suffering?
Did your Father tell you the secret?  Did your Father show you the secret?
Can you share the secret, Manaheshte?  Where are you?

This cave is dark and cold and I fear the lion.
It would be comfort to know your presence, Manaheshte.
Please join me now and hold me fast on my path to the Father,
Who made the lion, who made the fire.

Were they there with you, Manaheshte, the Omahpahista?
Did they watch the beast take your head between its teeth?
Did they stand as witness to this act or did they assist?
Oh reverend brother, Manaheshte, where is the source of courage?

You said to me that there was no courage -- only obedience.
Where there is obedience, Omahpahista allies.
You said, "My Father sends them if you are faithful.
I have descended for you to take witness.  Open your eyes,
fear not the lions, fear not the fire.  Do as commanded.
Swim in my river."  Manaheshte.  Manah eshte.

iliana,
This is so interesting how you create these names...They have such rhythm to them and lend for a variety of interpretations.  You really have a knack for writing something to ponder...
