I want what I cannot have And this desire, This overwhelming longing Is a living, breathing thing Having taken up residence Throbbing within my breast Never ceasing in its demands To be reckoned with It is impossible I cannot acquiesce For in doing so The ramifications would be vast Tearing through too many lives As if a nuclear blast An emotional incineration Of souls I hold dear Yet, all said and done I will not banish the beast For his company I've come to love In the far recesses of my heart Where sense is not acknowledged And in his loss I would despair Drowining in an emptiness Leaving me lost inside And that I could not bear And so I'll want Yet never acquire For in truth When spoken aloud I've all I truly desire But to have that want To walk with his company It reminds me I'm alive It reminds me to breathe.
