Getting dressed up in Easter clothes all new
Pretty dress, bonnet, and a new pair of shoes
Going to Church to give thanks and pray
Many people are there for it's a special day

We hear the story of how Jesus died
On the old rugged cross with wounds in His side
He was put in the tomb asleep to lay
But then He arose upon the third day

Now we know that our Saviour lives
A life eternal to us He gives
For God gave as sacrifice His only Son
And all of Gods children have surely won

After Church service to Grandmothers house we go
To meet all our cousins and have fun you know
After a big meal we hunt Easter eggs for fun
We get so excited when we play and run

Happy, skipping, and running around
Laughing, singing, such a joyful sound
All of us children wanting to play
Gathering together on this Easter day

We eat our eggs and our chocolate bunny candy
Eating so much that night we don't feel too dandy
So this Easter day if the child comes out in you
Please don't eat too much cause your tummy could get sick too

You've left me smiling with memories of days long ago, Ethel. There was nothing like Easter at Grandma's house. I can taste it, see it and re-live it after reading this piece. Thank you for that. Happy Easter to you!

Best wishes and hugs,
/Kit

I hear your voice and suddenly
I'm falling, lost in a dream
