Passing Words and Other Thoughts
By Paul Wilson

I’ve tried to write my heart… to tell you how I feel
but how do you write about something that’s been torn apart
My tears washed away the words from the page
each time I found the strength to start

The joy and happiness we once knew memories of the past
I recall so tenderly…each word we shared
Now washed away by the flow of tears
sometimes I wonder…if you really cared

If my tears could be saved forever
till the oceans and rivers run dry
Maybe I could write my heart
cause I wouldn’t have to cry

If you see me walking in a storm
don’t think that I am crazy or insane
I’m just hiding my teardrops from you
they keep falling like the rain

Trying again today looking inside my heart
I found a few words that came to me
so I wrote them down before
they were washed away like the sand by the sea

I hear you calling…like a soft breeze through the trees
Calling…calling for me to join you in this dance
Slowly we find each other sharing what we once had
a poet and his muse…ready to take another chance

Maybe this time you will stay for awhile
and let me share my heart with you
I’ll save those teardrops of the past for now
cause I wrote this poem for you

Dedicated To My Muse
I thought you had abandoned me

Your muse is always with you Paul..
at times they just like take a little rest.
This is one of your best!
A keeper for my library.
So good to read you once again.

Paul,
I believe this is the first pleasure I've had to read one of your poems.  It won't be the last!

Nancy... Glad you think so. I thought that maybe my writing days were over and I would have to find another love, but things are getting better in Muse Land. I just want to say thanks for everything...Paul

Sadelite...That was a very nice reply from you. I really appreciate you taking time to read. I'ts been a few months since I last wrote, but hopefully I can get back on track.
Thanks again for the reply...Paul
I need to catch up on my reading also and look forward to reading some of your words.

Oh Paul, they never truly abandon us.
Take longer than necessary vacations, perhaps;
go on a lengthy haitus, surely...

but never, ever, abandon us!
