Acquainted With The Night

With a mind full of activities
When its time to go to bed
Worries pay nocturnal visits
Each one attaching a thread

How I wish could drift away
In a more peaceful slumber
It is no use counting sheep
As worries gather in number

Mind tracked here and there
Dreamland seems far away
On the same old roundabout
All the worries decide to play

I can never find that off switch
Nor leave the worries behind
Strange I don't even feel tired
Having too much on my mind

I have counted a million stars
Viewed phases of moonlight
I feel so much like a nightowl
I am acquainted with the night
