I think about the times she tucked me in, the unwanted but appreciated wet kiss The support she always gave me when I was down. I think about our bond that will always exist, in the spirit of the air I breathe. I think about crying and being drawn into her arms, comforted by the loving tightness of the hug. I think about all the wonderful times I overheard her bragging about me "He wrote a poem about love! He's only ten, It's so beautiful, I don't know where it comes from" I think about the lifetime of comfort I've enjoyed holding onto the wisdom of her moral wishes. I think about the times I deceived her in childish fashion and she was so crushed but always scolded me within the protection of flesh and blood. I think about the times she tutored me, pleaded my own case to me, to be myself and succeed at manhood using a conscience developed from mercy. I think about her being older now and still knowing me so well that she can almost hear what I'm thinking...... and it sets me back a step or two. The insight, the power of her womb developing me, delivering me and continuing to develop me and deliver me even now. I think about her a lot because there's a consciousness there that makes the reason for living abound with the strength of family molded by a spiritual unexplainable Mother's love. As I look at her these days growing older I become saddened but yet still strengthened by the knowing look in her eyes.... I realize, death is an enemy that steals reality from the living but offers peace to the aging awaiting a resurrection into paradise.... And, I realize that I WILL be able to love her forever... |

I understand the special heart connection between a mother and son. It is perhaps the deepest bond there is...and it is all knowing without any words exchanged. Smiling, because you have articulated something sacred that all too often slips by in silence. Wonderful write. TD |
