If You Can't Stand the Heat Today I had a fight I thought I could not win. I took apart my oven door to clean the glass within. I tallied every section and numbered every part. Then scrubbed and scrubbed each tiny screw and cleaned each piece with heart. I never thought when finished I'd have to fight the door. I raised and lifted, setting in but it would take much more. I even called the expert, "he" so says the one out back. But after much, enduring words, I cannot repeat with tact... He left with mumbling negatives and I said "Go, I'll try" and after 3 more hours of blood, sweat, tears of cry... I took a break and went out back to say "I give up now." On Monday I will call "the man" and spend more... anyhow I thought to self, I can't give in, I'll try just one more time. And so I lifted, placed it on the hinge...and it worked fine. I felt so proud, for figuring out the angle needed, too. And went back out to tell him so: I did it "without you!" M |

I am so tired from fighting the door and him, Chris...but the condensation between the glass was bothering me today. I hate to give up on anything Thanks...for the response and for the remarks in Karen's journal..when I have more energy I will get back there and respond. I am still fighting this awful cough~sigh~ Time for a warm soothing bath. M |

Karen, today I went to the hardware store...wanting to do something useful. But they told me I wouldn't be able to handle a large saw to finish cutting up my huge tree limbs(as big around as a trunk)...I did believe them on that score and will let the opposite sex take that one on. Thanks and when I have some rest time in..I will come back and send you an email. In the meantime I do enjoy the journal and it makes one not feel so alone. M |
