Up through the fine mist across the field,
rises the phantom of my lost child;
her high voice drifts gently across the breeze;
her small face my gathering blithe dream sees.

This autumn dawning is fragile and soft,
as ever her memory floats aloft;
my little girl's eyes still sparkle and shine;
she calls to me "mama, oh mama mine!"

Sheena, my moon daughter tender and dear,
come to my meadow of memoirs here;
lend me your memories carefree and sweet,
in quavering autumn's oppresive heat.

Surely Sheena Rose's eyes still sparkle and shine.

The connection of the hearts is real and alive.

Such a very touching write!

Love and hugs. Margherita

Rosemary

"her small face my gathering blithe dream sees."

I feel your words like part of my own loss.  So beautifully and tenderly you express the grief and the love.

Rosemary... this is a beautiful and tender write.

Marge, Margherita,  Martie, Chris, Elizabeth, Seymour, Maree, Sunshine, I thank each one of you so much for your marvelous responses!  It's been a long time since I was here, and you are all just as sweet as ever!  Oh, Seymour, what poetry you write - yes, there are many ways to touch the wind!
