She understood fingers which touched piano keys
And some answers to unanswered questions
She understood why rainbows disappear
And sun soaked skin bathed in warmth breathed
She understood the words of lost souls
And boys who were brave enough to go
She understood garnets of wind brushing her face
And why gravity held thick painted hallways
And evening bridges sprawling out to sea
She understood why some baby birds must leave
And why her love of solitude cradles
She understood the hedge in her yard
And the calmness of a candle in her arms
She understood with clarity innocence and naïve
And the sapphire of flotsam profoundly
She knew a mystic state of heaven’s eyes
Where a river goes when it cries
She knew great interludes with books
The fusion of art and poetry’s flickering windows
She knew and heard spoken words of nature
What lies beneath the taste of calm pleasures
She well knew her teachers with their drifting captions
Why butterflies were drawn to warm colors
She knew her body both inside and out
And powers reining with the temptresses of clouds
She knew how difficult it is for a mother to let go
But she also knew the joy of hearing a whippoorwill
She gazed into the eyes of the quivering wind
And valued the core of frequencies dancing
She knew the cold and dark shadows of terrible sounds
And she knew they’d soon leave as angels ministered their passions
She knew words, and the great steps they formed
And the vacuum of loss in need of reform
She knew the spiral staircase to his home
Was a place she’d always think of and know
But most of all she knew that sometimes love
May also be the echo of letting go

This...is wonderful..

"She knew how difficult it is for a mother to let go
But she also knew the joy of hearing a whippoorwill
She gazed into the eyes of the quivering wind
And valued the core of frequencies dancing"

And the delicate closing...

"She knew the spiral staircase to his home
Was a place she’d always think of and know
But most of all she knew that sometimes love
May also be the echo of letting go"

Very beautiful indeed Lee.

May also be the echo of letting go.”  Brilliant write Lee J.

Well Dixie should be extremely pleased with this because it is very heart warming and gentle but still paints the picture of reality in reflection.

Nice work, I really enjoyed the read.
