The spider slides across the silken strands, an aerial artist striding on stage. At the center of her web, expectantly, she tunes the strings for tonight's performance. Shall it be Blind Mary or Carolan's Cottage?, she asks. What's your favorite Irish air? Then with long, long fingers she plucks a lively tune for her captive audience. On she plays, a master of her craft. Finally finished, she nods knowingly, then rises horribly, all the while smiling benevolently at the fly..... |
