Love Is A Temple and Thee My Shrine

Its not that smile that you gift me each day,
Nor the wanton simper within your glance,
It’s more then golden locks of disarray,
Or the belief there’s naught that’s left to chance.

It’s a grove of green on a summer morn,
The gentle kiss of an inviting wind,
The seductive timbre of a French horn—
—The flowers in your hair that you have pinned.

Love is a jigger, from which I would drink,
It’s the garments, in which thou hast been trimmed,
It’s sonnets penned with indelible ink,
It’s the pale stars in which twilight’s been rimmed.

My heart, my love, forever will be thine,
For love is a temple and thee my shrine.

Remember, if you're not part of the future, you're history!

Very nice, EV2.  I enjoyed it all, but really liked this line:

"It’s the pale stars in which twilight’s been rimmed."

This is just exceptional poetry..
"Love is a jigger, from which I would drink,
It’s the garments, in which thou hast been trimmed,
It’s sonnets penned with indelible ink,
It’s the pale stars in which twilight’s been rimmed"
Very much old traditional in a superb manner.

I thoroughly enjoyed the read.
