What happened to Outstanding when
Appreciation refused to pay?
Outstanding generously offered one
  from his pint of raspberries;
(Dreaming to blow it in repay.)

Same thing happened to Outstanding
When Respect went out the door.
He reached into woven basket,
  Sought to catch Respect,
Then kindly offered three raspberries more.
(He was a dreamer.)

It was busy at the institution that day,
Rather like Grand Central Station;
People in scurry, unknowingly
Left behind Little Cooperation.

For many months, Little Cooperation grew
Thin and pale, weak and stale,
Shivering from Success’s Blight.
Would there be an ounce of C left
     in the world of the negative to fight?

(In silence we fight the many who lack respect,
that Think of themselves as the ace of the deck.)

This to me isn't very clear. I'll need to read it a few more times. Thanks, Grover.

Grover,
   This is a work of frustration.  The "social" institution in which I work lacks a motivated atmosphere largely due to the lack of respect and appreciation from the higher-ups.  Still, most of the workers try to be professional and positive "giving" more of their time and efforts.  (They try to turn the other cheek). I tried to show them giving by offering with kindness, however, thinking in the back of their mind that they'd rather blow a raspberry.   That doesn't sound too respectful either, but the higher-ups are killing a major institution.  Everyone is frustrated.

Well, now I see. I truly hope the institution soon repents of its ways! Sure hope so for your sake! Grover.

Grover,
  It is not my sake I'm worried about, but thanks.   Thanks for noting need for clarification.

People who tend to show wit, imagination
AND compassion...
tend to get me to read them more, and more...

Some excellent work here...

C., I did read this a long time ago -- just thought I'd wait until later to post.  Yes, I understand.  And, true.
