Gently buried ‘neath deep northern snow, she scurries from her secret den to her foodstash hidden down below, for the younguns who must grow before spring does show ‘neath sunshine’s melting glow what winter hid so well below; their daily activities covered carefully so that no one would know. Tiny mothers rustling grub from tree roots and leaves, like some two legged moms seen rolling up their sleeves filling pots and pans with cheese, rice and beans; and when it’s all done, she cleans, cleans, cleans, until the next day which brings the same routines. And this is the circular cycle of life repeated it seems above and below ground, year ‘round, life teems. |
