As the light changes and shadows descend the world that we know becomes a night owl on lofty heights perched with sharp beady eyes asking perhaps what pleasure in sleep. Fierce gales of the day have settled to calm and the moon resplendent smiles from the sky for she knows that the shadows in every soul grow longer before released into the light. Stretched in the night a mind takes to flight to leave dormant behind the body of choice and freely claim honour, glory, and fame, to replenish the store of courage and nerve. And yet we awake, no better, no wiser, still captive within the world that we know and like the night owl I too must enquire what pleasure in sleep, what gain, recompense. But we sleep again, yes, perchance maybe dream, and have no idea where we might have been! Helen |

Thanks, passing shadows. That was a quick reply - not sleeping I presume. |

Thanks, icebox. It's always nice when one agrees particularly about something we can't really prove. |
