No one, I’m sure knows who first wrote of “light” as “love’ Knows which poet first used this conceit That it is found in scripture is certain and used often, Ad Nauseum, in the millennia since But who do you suppose, may have been first? A scribe, perhaps bored with his tallies and taken with a poetic bent scratched this metaphor into a clay tablet upon seeing Ra shine love onto a slavegirl Or even, in a time before words could a skin-clad being have portrayed a beloved image at the center of a circle of sunlight that splashed upon the wall of his cave? I don't know the answer, but whomever carved the "Sun Dagger" is a good candidate. *smile* Thanks for starting my day with a smile! |

"Love is eternal -- the aspect may change, but not the essence There is the same difference in a person before and after he is in love as there is in an unlighted lamp and one that is burning. The lamp was there and was a good lamp, but now it is shedding light too, and that is its real function. And love makes one calmer about many things, and that way, one is more fit for one's work." --Vincent Van Gogh (1853-1890) |

Interesting thoughts here Bro...and beautifully expressed M Beauty of the world which is soon to perish has two edges, one of laughter and one of anguish, cutting the heart asunder. |
