The Scent of Lilac

Under a dark moonless sky
seemingly going on forever
speckled with radiant stars
we lay among the flowers
watching as a single comet
lit up the sky just for us.
After pulling you closer
I caught a scent of lilac
floating soft on the wind
reminding me of an age long past
a time of southern belles.
As we cuddled and kissed
emotions and desires
whirled and twirled
in our very being.
Taking us to the edge
of a place only lovers go.

well done poet sir...nice to see you posting again.

Very much enjoyed this piece!

"aka IcyHeart" ??? My goodness, I don't think so! This poem had to have been written by someone with a very WarmHeart!

Thanks, I needed that!
