When I first read the title of "Sweet Poetess" I saw "Sweet Potatoes." So I had to, was compelled to write a poem about them. Forgive me?

Sweet Potatoes

Sweet potatoes,
treat potatoes,
with brown sugar
in a pie.

Layered up
with sweet pecans,
in tiers
up to the sky.

Toss in a pineapple
chunk,
or maybe dunk
in two.

A wonderful treat
for baby, me and you!

I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Yeppers, there really are no mistakes in life. Everything happens for a reason! ~ and in this case, a delightfully delicious poem was created from a misread!

Thank you for this yummy-in-the-tummy write!

Hugs to you, Dear Sweet Potatoes Poetess!

Glad you misread!  It reminded me of my sweet potato casserole that we have on holidays (that's a good remind because being a lousy cook, it's the only thing of mine that is good and has made the list of tradition.)   Although it's a casserole, it could pass for pecan pie!   Thanks for the fun.
