On the sidewalk that winds through the village green,
A women walks dressed, in dull whites of winter
Instead of bright pinks, or beiges of spring.
Through it's cold, she strolls, to meet her new lover
The one who has filled her heart up with bother,
And her head up with romantic schemes.
*
But a whistle of chill breaks their huddle,
Negating the ardor that they both esteem;
So they seek out the heat behind casements,
The bell on the door of the coffee house, rings..
*
On the wall hang pictures of searing Espressos
Dark Cappuccinos and double-shot Lattes
Along with a tablet that charts a full year...
In yesterdays space is a four word passage
"First day of spring" (seems a lie to the pair)

Though it's cold, she strolls, to meet her new lover
The one who has filled her heart up with bother,

Hmmmm, those couple lines are enough to warm my heart right up~

Here's hoping the chill will subside, soon ice~

Enjoyed your poem very much~

Ford...several messages in this piece...
at least, for me...

and I like the layers, too.

{still thinking warm...it was 28 when I got up this morning...)
