Between the Lines

0 posted 2004-03-25 05:57 PM

There are stories never told
all within my grasp, mind's hold.

Drawing lines upon my face
that smiles cannot smooth out, erase.

There is power in lined words
obscurring all those "should be" heards.

And in the end the mood of all
signals nothing more... than fantasy's call.

Dark desires found between
crying out illusion's theme.

There is no accident at all
that flames the flame of lover's call.

In shadow's silence, here I sit
many times uncomfortable fit.

On the side, wallflower me,
rose tinted glasses through which to see...

and watch, voyeur, I tend to be.

One by one, disasters show
suffering a losing blow.

When all that's left is less than green
that other side, the fantasy scene.

Now comes the spring and with it new,
waiting out my turn of true.

The only call I wish to hear
the one whose lines will disappear.

Removing those upon my face,
allowing me to live with grace

and stay the edge of comfort's place.

M

Somehow Maureen I don't picture you as a wallflower at all.
You are far to pretty and oh so sweet.

Oh you would be surprised Nancy...it must be what 30 plus years of marriage does to your image.  But Thanks

Thank you Bernie, hope all is well with you.

Enjoyed this, M, and understand.
