One Can Not I'm less than perfect, an ode incomplete, A shattered mirror laying at your feet, I'm tarnished brass, a half remembered dream, A sigh in the night, a dying mans' scream. I'm null and void, an inkblot on the page, The closed curtain upon the theatre stage, I'm a stained carpet, the hole in your jeans— —Intelligence by artificial means. Forget you know me, disdain my pain, In your make-believe world I'm the mundane, Yea on pleasantries misspend not your breath, I'm but a carcass, pure cerebral death. One can not smile when there's no spark of life, Aye one can not waltz to a tuneless fife. Remember, if you're not part of the future, you're history! |

"I'm less than perfect, an ode incomplete, A shattered mirror laying at your feet," at first i was going to say... are we all not an ode incomplete....but then i read further..and i must stay that on many levels this piece just spoke so loudly to me.. as for no spark ... and no smile... well you know how i feel about you smiling. :-) wonderful write kevin and one that i will be back to read again and again. hugs... me "yet each man kills the thing he loves by each let this be heard, some do it with a bitter look, some with a flattering word" oscar wilde |
