walking straight is a novelty well at least for this moment this newness of autumn where the fog has set in I see no horizon no mermaid or frog but I hear them crawling and quarreling like "plenty of wild fowl" at play I want to be there upon the cold salt of Hill 60 where the gun pill box and air raid shelter observe the scales of the Blackfish the flash of the lighthouse beneath the birth of night I was not borne of this port but have become its sea-captain my breath tastes the weather and its fish like effervescence upon my tongue my eyes follow the crooked coast up past the breakwater toward the battered lighthouse and the bruised rocks which surround it they were mine once bound to my throat naked and full holding all they could Beauty of the world which is soon to perish has two edges, one of laughter and one of anguish, cutting the heart asunder. walking straight is a novelty well at least for this moment an effort to draw the reader into the crooked coast line itself and that one can not walk straight from here to there or a reference to the season itself and its effects on you personally.. or are you using the season as a metaphor for aging? in any case... this as always struck me as wonderfully done.. the ending already quoted strong and with an intimate feel for both flesh and a place..and a time.. and an idea.. bravo ma'am... bravo.. |

beautiful, just....beautiful i'm a fan joy has its own justice. and dreams are languid and lawless. and everything bows to beauty, when it's fierce and when it's flawless... |

Beautimous Mmy-- feel like I am seeing it with you-- one tiny thing- why the word 'nor'? just a personal thing i guess Hugs J There is society where none intrudes, by the deep sea, and music in its roar. |

Dark Angel -- I love these scenes of yours. Especially liked: I see no horizon no mermaid nor frog "but I hear them crawling and quarreling like "plenty of wild fowl" at play I want to be there upon the cold salt of Hill 60 where the gun pill box and air raid shelter observe the scales of the Blackfish the flash of the lighthouse beneath the birth of night" |

Like I said, I'm running out of praises that are high enough for your talent. Maree, honestly, you should publish. If and when you do, please let me know. ~Tier |
