My heart slows down again
the pain reaches up to my throat,
fear has a tight grip
and tears are on the way.

I go outside
where I can breath alittle easier
a breeze softly moves the trees
the fresh air smells so good.

Memories visit me
of childhood days
spent in the sun
I can still hear the sweet laughter

I feel more tears start to come
but push them away
I only want to enjoy this moment,
enjoy the sunshine playing on my face.

The pain recedes
but I know it will be back again,
it's been doing this all day.

This may not be the end
but my days are now filled with fear
fear and memories.
And Im valuing each moment.

I only wish I could have let others know me better
but I have less regrets to face
than I would have thought.

Im not giving in so easily
I'll do all that I can
to win this battle,
for that's what it is.
Me against my body.
