Yellow As winter’s most bitter breeze Breached my defenses And fingerlings of frost Crept cruelly across my heart You brought springtime into being With the reassurance That love never dies. Just beyond a pane of glass A storm was screaming Deluge mocking my puny rain of tears A suitable setting for mourning. But time and distance yielded power To strength of love and caring As your breath thawed my soul Daffodils burst forth in bloom And hope's infusion soothed As seasons changed.  |

Gremlins? OK...so the anesthesia caused a blonde moment.   Oh well...ever the tardy moth...Im here now to say you know I loved the allits and the word play in this...and of course the hope its ending speaks of and the picture too. Suthern -- I really liked this one -- don't you just love daffodils?! We went to eat at an Indian restaurant on the west side of town the other night and they had fresh ones in vases on the table. I had forgotten how absolutely pure and delicious their fragrance is. They smell like Spring herself! |
