As I listen to grunting snores, I recount yesterdays loss of counted sheep, and desire of painless easy sleep; but woe, gouging pains grew from food causing darkness in my somewhat usual sunny mood, developing apathy of life, pleading for a conk on the head or medicinal morphine. To the emergency room at ten we fled, hurting to be alive, wishing to be dead rather than wrung in weighted furls of spasmodic pain; No beds available, only wooden armed chairs in waiting room; I lay upon the floor waiting in the waiting room, tossing, turning, insides cement churning body burning in the waiting room waiting for a bed. Silent screaming, undared dreaming Of help within the hour. From floor to position bent upon a chair to fetal tried once more. I became a desperate panther pacing blind the floor, Feet feeling the way, perhaps because eyes preferred not seeing those glued helpless to their desks and papers Two and half hours later, an IV with meds came to rescue me as I repeatedly said, “Only need to muster enough faith to fill a mustard seed. Muster enough for seed, muster for small seed.” Within seconds of injection, my pain wisped airingly away. Strange as it may seem, twenty four hours has not since passed, But the internal memory of the hurt is already forgot. |

Sadelite! What an awful experience! I hope you're going to be ok. Enjoyed the mustard seed part...your humor is intact. Rest, dear one! ~K~ |

I would like to believe that this isn't true, Sadie. But it sounds like you do know. (Last time I brought my own pillow and blanket--laid on the floor until it finally passed, and then told 'em I was going home now. When they told me if the pain returned that I should come back--I said, "Okay, but I'll make sure to shoot myself in the foot first") sigh. But? That's one less claim denied from my insurance company and one less collection agent I have to deal with. ![]() ![]() Hope you're well. Hugs. |

Sadie, this was brilliant and interesting, how you describe the horror show at a hospital waiting room, I believe better service is given at the vets? I hope this isn't something you've experienced |

Dear Sadelite, I am so sorry you had to experience such a tremendous adventure. You kept my heart racing while I absorbed your words. Great write. ... I am surprised to hear that such things happen also in other parts of the world! It's a shame really. Love and hugs. Margherita |

Kahlil, Thanks for your wishes--I'll go along with those! The mustard seed? That little seed has been invaluable a couple of times in my life! Sadie Serenity, You and your honesty are wonderfully refreshing! I could only laugh with understanding when Ive read at various times today. The little icon banging head against the door was very apropo! I hope no more need for those campouts for you... Sadie passing shadows, Thanks for sending wishes of good health. No pain like that mentioned thank goodness--hoping it holds out! Smile sent. Sadie Kicking Kim, Yes, that might be a term for it! Another one, awakening. It made me think of people in different places and times around the world who would have had no chance at the wonderful medical attention that I did receive, when I did receive it. At least I knew there was some hope, just a matter of wait. Thank you for your prayers. Sadie |

Sy, Thank you for your positive response. Sorry to hear you know the hospital experience. Sadie Lee, Thank you for your most positive comment about my writing. The vets are the lucky ones without all the red-tape hoops to jump. The hospital personnel were all very good; it is the system that needs adjustment. I'm sure that anyone working in ER would dream of more help and equipment/supplies. Thank you for your caring response. I appreciate... Sadie Margherita, Thank you for your compassionate words-my heart was racing, too (attempt at humor, he-he)! No, seriously, I hope more money goes into bettering care-for whatever reason, these important institutions are understaffed it seems. Sadie Goodknight, You are true to your name. Thank you for your kind response and concern. It is nice to know people care. Sadie iliana, Inspired writing-or was that perspired writing? I always get the two confused. Thank you for your flattering comment. I'm glad you liked my writing. Sadie dingusjr., Last night? Ouch. You understand completely. I'll race you for an operation! Be well. I'll be thinking about you. Sadie |
