I reached for it all
But was denied
I pleaded to the stars
No one replied
I asked the sun
But felt like there was no one
Then I listened and heard
Not sure what it was
A whisper and sigh
Caressed to draw nigh
So I slid from the altar
And begged for some more
Then again as before
I was ignored
So now I listen
And some days I hear
But most days there is nothing
So ponder I must
Ponder I will
Wonder about it all
Ignoring what I don’t hear
