There is a war

the clouds came out to play
all cryptic-like and huddled together
like the few thousand of us
bobbing around

Maggie and a tasseled blanket
were my only comfort
we were separated from our clan
and had to make do with the warmth of our bodies
sharing one blanket
which wrapped around the terror
that exploded our bones

and we couldn’t prove the weak

we felt alone
but happy that we had one another
lip-locked and trembling within the nest of people
all tree-like
fruity and flowered
bobbing up
bobbing down

some even resembled vegetables

this was our garden
our new home
our sanity
crouched down between the black and white of war
where the faint familiarity of innocence appeared
within the pull of forgiveness

my eyes left Maggie for a moment
her sun in my eyes
and in squint of her
followed the crack in concrete

finding you

in the back-ground
sitting crooked in your little
pumpkin patch
mocking me…

my immortal

Beauty of the world which is soon to perish has two edges, one of laughter and one of anguish, cutting the heart asunder.

Hey Luscious.

This has a feeling of safe haven and innocence--I would love to know the source of your inspiration on this.

A cozy read and very touching, m'friend.
