A chosen vigil. Standing tall against the chilling winds, squinting against the blinding noon rays, the pelting rains. Braced, unmoving. Weathering the swelter, steadying the cane’s bearer unselfishly. Whispering softly “I am” Are you? Asked incessantly, repeatedly. Will you be? Wondering in wander, walking precariously the tightly drawn rope of loneliness. The echo fading, careening against rough stone, still audible.... “I am....the wind that fills you, the waters that quench you, the foods that sate you as you hunger....the song that calms you, the touch that needs you, a dream that stirs you... all of this and more!” Yes, yes you are |

Barry, without question, one of your most brilliantly written and heartfelt pieces. I am saving it in my special book of poems and if Ron ever decides to do another 'Reflections' book, this should be on page 1. Loved it so much ... huggles, Marti I take no credit for my poems. I often read you without reply, for what you share requires no commentary...and usually catches in the back of my throat, just behind a tear. Lovely write dear friend. All prayers always, TD |
