A Plate, When Full |

Life’s toils do swarm the ragged soul upon the fill again our plate. As winds alight the furrowed brow and shivering bone are weary late. Where lights will flicker of their flame as candles burn the end of wicks. And creatures crawl into their dens as poor souls scour the earth for sticks. Will not the night’s eyes softly close and bring the dawn upon the rise? That birds might light the morn anew before the earth or man arise. And then again, once more shall fall the toils into the plate till spurned. Where wax then drips the hardened floor as midnight’s oil again is burned. For souls shall sleep in fitful rest upon the hour of slumber’s knock when bells shall bring the eyes to see the dreaded hour of five o’clock. |

Smiling...you, too? Tell me, Sir, do you hit the snooze for another ten minutes? |

Heck, I out and out laughed! Mine goes off at 4:40 and I want to kill everything I can reach, but thank goodness I'm still disoriented enough that I can't even move, leastwise, "reach" - except for the clock of course - but it always gets in the last word, doesn't it?? Great piece mangus... jimmy |

Magnus, I just loved this one! Yes, wouldn't it be nice if we awoke to the sun peeking through our curtains and the sounds of birds welcoming it rather than alarm clocks! Throw out the clocks, I say..... Wonderful write! |
