I had a dream last night My Lord, He talked with me I asked Him many questions And He answered me gently I said, “Why, my Lord, my God Do I have to feel this pain? What’s Your purpose there? What am I to gain? Why can she not see the man Who only wants to take her hand I only want to love her, Lord Help me to understand Why can‘t she feel for me? Why must it be this way? And will I ever find a love Just for me one day?” He took His time to answer Had I said something wrong? But finally He gave reply Like a wondrous, mighty song He said, “It is not for you to know The things I have in store If you let yourself have patience Then I’ll give you so much more Keep your eyes fixed here on Me And one day My plans I’ll show Have a little faith, my child This is not for you to know.” I thought about His answer And of course, He answered well But I wanted of the details Though I knew He would not tell I couldn’t help but ask again, “Why can I not see All the blessings You are holding In Your mighty hands for me?” He said, “Where were you, my child When I moved the land out of the seas? Where you yet living there When I clothed the earth with trees? I set in motion many things If you will wait a while I promise you you’ll see it And I promise you will smile You would not understand If I told you of creation You could not comprehend Every atom in its station The tapestry of heaven And the mysteries I wove Are beyond your understanding Though your entire life you strove Trust me, little creature You know I love you so Trust me, little heir of mine It is not for you to know.” He answered me yet one more time; I found I could not speak He said, “My child, trust My strength When you are feeling weak My lesson is to aid your faith For you to hope in Me My lesson is to help your trust From doubts I’ll make you free I’ve prepared much better things Give love a chance to grow Wait for Me in My own time That is for you to know.” |

Bravo! It flowed so well. This is one of the smoothest flowing poems that I have ever read. I commend you for that. The only thing that I'm not too sure that I liked was that the rhyme was very predictable, but it may have worked better for this one. Once again, great work! -alex |
