the next 2 poems that i post are for my cousin nic. he's 22 and his wife just died and the mayo clinic. he watched her die...she was 99% brain on sunday and late that night they took her off life support. she died immediately. he's incredibly torn up now, to the point of . these are for him. forever after and never she was alive but ded to the world, even the one she loved most: you. you're caught in a struggle between keeping her and what you have to do. you've got two sides to your coin, both drenched in uncomforting tears. the decision to let her go is tearing you apart and will for upcoming years. machines keep her heart beating longer and you pray to god for healing. you've made all the deals you can but deth always seems to be cheatiing. your comfort wont be found in us, wont be found at the end of a gun, its a comfort unseen, but felt strongly, something that only comes when you're stunned. i pray that in your darkest hour, when all the guns and knives have been hdden and all you want is for life totake you away, that god will give you what you think is . peace to settle your heart that's broken, peace to heal the destroyed hopes in your head. take comfort in knowing that you'll see here again, once the funeral roses have faded and carnations bloom instead. now im alone, but not lonely like before [This message has been edited by young_blood (12-09-2003 08:07 PM).] |

thats skillfully written work. your poetry, by far, is the best on this little forum. your world is only as your senses percieve it. what happens when we lose our senses? heaven? nice try, play again. |

that poem is so sad. So well written. I hope that Nic can find some comfort for the pain he is going through. It is rough losing someone you love. I am so sorry for your family's loss. I hope things can be better in the future. -Jeanette- |

this reminded me of when a good friend of mine was on life support. After loosing both of his parents, her brother had to make the decision as to whether or not she would remain on life support. In the end, he decided to take her off life support, and instead of just loosing his parents, he lost a sister as well. very nice write. Condolences to your cousin and you. |
